ROCK CREEK INSTALLATION
INTERIOR DESIGNER: CHARLIE HELLSTERN DESIGNS: LANDBRIDGE LIGHTING & CHARLIE HELLSTERN | PHOTOGRAPHY: EMILIO CERRILLO
We collaborated with Charlie Hellstern Interiors to craft a custom wall installation for chef Eric Donnely’s new Kirkland seafood restaurant. The goal was to create a sculptural fixture wall in the private event space beneath the main restaurant floor, inspired by a salvaged plow disc. We sourced additional plow discs in sizes ranging from 12 to 16 inches and paired them with in-house fabricated steel backplates, finished with patinas that seamlessly blend the rustic salvaged elements with new components.
To unify the fixture wall, we connected the individual lights with copper conduit. LED lighting mounted along the outer ring of the backplates casts a warm wash of indirect light, accentuating the wood wall covering and contributing to the inviting atmosphere of the space. Flame-reticulated brass finials add an organically textured focal point to the center of each fixture. The entire wall was pre-laid in our shop to ensure a smooth and accurate installation.
This project highlights our ability to merge reclaimed materials with thoughtful design, delivering unique solutions tailored to the purpose and character of each space.
