MRS WALL SCONCE

Taking inspiration from the warm glow of radio tubes, MRS comes dressed for something new.

 

With MRS, we wanted a simple sconce that provided visual warmth without the need for a mass-produced light bulb. After careful planning, we arrived on a light distribution method that relies on LED lamping, the reflective color of brass, and some very fine machining.

 

The vertical holes and machined cuts of the LED housing allow light to pass through windows of brass, lending a warm glow through the side while directing most of the light from the LED module through a center bore. That light shines through machined solid acrylic that is both shade and lens, while the shape of the machined brass backplate recalls the silhouette of a 1930s radio console.

MRS offers a glimpse of nostalgia through a modern lens.
